She has been mother, father, ghost and host body, earth stains on whites, white wool and white skin beneath a ring eased off slowly across the knuckle. Bent noses, broken fingers, grey hair- two plaits down the back, a figure losing features slowly. each deteriorates, these soft and fermenting bodies break as teeth are thrown out from the roadside, out-
